It absolutely kills me that everyone has these grandiose-sounding Latin names and then there's the Amicitias. Flowers. That giant wall of meat is named after a flower.

Noct at least has a whole "night sky" theme going on, so I can give his name a pass.

Oh, and don't forget Ignis' middle name! Ignis Stupeo Scientia. Fire ASTONISHING Knowledge.

God, I'm actually giggling to myself in public here, I look like an idiot. I love these boys so much.

Gladio is 6'6" and he's named after a pretty, pretty flower. It makes me laugh.

And, oh god, I try SO HARD to forget Ignis' middle name because it just... no. Please, no.

LMAO. My cat thinks I'm totally mad for giggling about this so. The boys are lucky they're so lovable though because oh my god. Their names are hilarious trashfires.

(Noctis I also give a pass because he's royalty and royalty generally get really stupid names in a lot of media. My concerns for Noctis mostly lie on the fact 'did no one ever think to get this boy some therapy when he legit seems to be clinically depressed'?)

At least his sister is small enough to pull off "Iris", ahahaha.

I'M NOT GIVING THE TENEBRAENS A PASS HERE EITHER. Lunafreya Nox Fleuret?! Somehow we've managed to jam together Norse, Latin, and French into one name. And Ravus... Ravus. Did your parents hate you so much that they just named you after your haircolor?

(Oh man, do not even get me started on poor Noct's... just, entire life, and how many people totally failed him. D:)

They were saving all their creativity for naming Luna obviously! That's why Ravus got the shaft! Basically, though, no one ought to be naming anyone in XV. No one.

And, ugh, yeah. Noct just... Noct needed so much help that people didn't give him and it's so frustrating because he was in the sort of position where people could have given him that help EASILY. But no.

It sucks, because so much of it is tied back to his father distancing himself from him-- which was ostensibly for his benefit, because Regis knew he was going to die (I don't think he knew he was going to be assassinated, but the ring and the Wall were killing him anyway) and he wanted to make it hurt as little as possible for Noct (when in fact it hurt just SO MUCH), but I think he knew that he fucked up in that. As he was sending Noct off, you could see the regret in him. Ugh.
