I think part of it is due to streaming as a profession being so new. Lots of the old mentality of just doing it for their friends and buddies has carried over

If it's somebody's personal Twitch stream, nobody would care

Except then they continue to do it as an open, now-commercial channel. Once they're advertising themselves as open to all to watch and trying to attract a broad audience and subscribers as an entertainer, it's different

And some people like the guy you mentioned realize that and others really... don't. :\

I'm also wondering if maturity of the host is at play.

I've watched him, too. And he's got a full-time job and a wife, so this is kind of a part-time gig for him.
