Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make
(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 12:27 am (UTC)(link)Also, is m-preg common or something that the readers would be genuinely hopeful it would happen? (For the record, I don't mind m-preg, though it's not my go-to either)

You can find and filter novels there. One of the most popular at the moment is Mo Dao Zu Shi (or Grandmaster of Demonic cultivation) - it has an anime adaption as well. It's also fully translated (except for a few extra chapters).
M-preg is fairly common, unfortunately for me, as is omegaverse, for some reason, but I think you can filter it out when searching for series.
If you tell me tropes you like/dislike and genres you are interested in, I could probably try to give you a few recs (may take a few hours because I'm going to sleep soon).
Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make
(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 12:56 am (UTC)(link)I think I'm pretty open. I love wuxia and traditional Chinese fantasy, but I haven't read that much Chinese media at all so can't say much. As long as it's m/m (or f/f is fine!).
I'm okay with most of the kinks, including the yaoi types. But I'm not limited to that! I'll check out Mo Dao Zu Shi.
Re: Secrets you're too lazy to make
(Anonymous) 2019-05-28 11:47 am (UTC)(link)First of all, a few that have a completed/mostly completed translation:
Already mentioned:
Founder of Diabolism/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Mo Dao Zu Shi. It's one of the most popular novels for a reason - it has a great plot, first and foremost, with the relationship being a really nice bonus, in a way. It's a bit of a slow burn, but it's well worth it.

(That page also has a summary.)
It also has a manhua adaption, an audio drama AND a donghua/anime adaption (all still in progress)!

The first novel by the same author is The Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System.
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-scum-villains-self-saving-system/
I don't like it quite as much as MDZS but it's nice nonetheless.
It's a transmigration/isekai novel - so the main character, a reader of a webnovel, got transported into the world of the novel he read and has to navigate a world where he knows the character whose place he took gets brutally murdered by the main character because he's a villain.
For me, this genre is kind of hit-and-miss, some novels with that plot can be quite nice, others... eh. Not a huge fan if there's a system involved (basically something like a program that tells the main character to do certain things/keep certain plots going and rewards/subtracts points and penalties for it) but it works quite well in this novel.
Spring Trees and Sunset Clouds
https://exiledrebelsscanlations.com/spring-trees-and-sunset-clouds/
I like this one because instead of a huge, world changing conflict, it's more of a slice of life type story with emphasis on character development. It was a pretty fluffy, relaxing read for me.
The Legendary Master's Wife
https://exiledrebelsscanlations.com/the-legendary-masters-wife/
I kind of enjoyed it as a slightly pulpy read, but the characterisations can be not everyone's cup of tea. I cringe a bit at the main character's antics from time to time. It's an example of the old "Love interest bullies the main character because he cares about him" and that can get kind of grating after a while. But it's finished (this is a pretty lengthy one).
It's also a transmigration-into-a-Xianxia-world and focuses a lot on pill refining.
War Prisoner
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/war-prisoner/
Serious whump-warning for this one. Has all the unpleasant yaoi tropes. But I ultimately ended up liking it - mostly because I do like my whump haha.
Ongoing series I really enjoy so far (Some of them with very slow updates, unfortunately):
A Thousand Autumns
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/thousand-autumns/
This is a Wuxia novel and one of my current favourites. Basically: Head of a martial arts sect gets tricked into losing a fight, gets seriously injured and picked up by the head of a rival sect who nurses him back to life for unknown reasons. I like that the main character isn't a helpless drooping flower despite his injuries. Has a very slow update ration right now, unfortunately.
Heaven Official's Blessing
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/heaven-officials-blessing/
(Google Drive files with more translated chapters by another group: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1oXnp5Y2OD70i78utu4BcQ3xgAlygypd0)
By the same author as MDZS and Scum Villain. It's her third novel and I like the main characters a lot. What I like is that it's a rare example of misunderstandings not getting dragged out unnecessarily for an eternity in the plot. The relationship between the two main characters is also very fluffy despite the angsty backgrounds.
The Husky and His White Cat Shizun
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-husky-and-his-white-cat-shizun/
(Additional translated chapters: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LwbkR2vZqj20tSKrdfkxYgV11N24FDKm)
This is a rebirth novel - so the main character dies and gets "reborn" in a younger version of himself. I always think rebirth is a bit of a false description because it's usually more of a do-over kind of thing. I hear it's going to get quite dark and angsty further down the line. A rare example of a gong/top MC - the preference in CN BL novels seems to be having the shou/bottom the main character.
Faraway Wanderers
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/faraway-wanderers/
Another Wuxia novel. The characters are interesting and from what I've seen in spoiler threads, it will be a nice read but it's also quite slow.
I Have Medicine
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/i-have-medicine/
Transmigration focusing on pill refining novel. Gets described as "Similar to Legendary Master's Wife but with a LI who appreciates the MC more". Gets fairly regular updates but will be around 1000 chapters so it's still a pretty long way ahead.
So What If You’ve Been Reborn?
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/so-what-if-youve-been-reborn/
I like this one as well so far. Very slow updates right now though. Gets a bit confusing at times.
The Villain’s White Lotus Halo
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-villains-white-lotus-halo/
This is also in the transmigration with a system genre but twists it in an amusing way - the main character is a villain who kept getting killed and reborn into different stories. Because he's tired of always getting killed of easily, he goes and purchases what he thinks is a great villain cheat item for his next incarnation. But he ends up getting the wrong item without his knowledge and is now stuck with a so called "white lotus halo" - a white lotus character in CN novels is a character who is very pure and innocent and who can do no wrong. It's gets kind of amusing.
There was some drama with a new translation group continuing the translations even though it was still ongoing, if slow, by another group. I think the new translations aren't too amazing and I was a bit annoyed by the new translator's behaviour so I have yet to catch up - it's getting a lot more/quicker updates now, though.
The Big Landlord
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-big-landlord/
It's quite funny, actually. Some fatshaming in the beginning if that's something you're wary of. By the same author as Legendary Master's Wife but I like the MC in this one much better - he's not nearly as much of a doormat.
The Villain Has Something To Say
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/the-villain-has-something-to-say/
Another do-over novel. I like this because it kind of pokes fun at a few tropes. For example, the MC finds out their world is a novel and the main character of that novel (the one who killed him in the past, not the LI) basically has a cheat where he succeeds just because is that novel's main character. So the MC sets out to sabotage the novel!MC at every turn. And then it turns out that the novel!MC is actually a transmigrated dude who just wants to breeze through the plot he already knows but for some reason, things keep going wrong.
Had pretty regular updates but has slowed to a crawl now.
Ghosts Know What I Experienced
https://www.novelupdates.com/series/ghosts-know-what-i-experienced/
Not a Xianxia/Wuxia setting but has fantasy/supernatural elements. Takes place in the modern world but focuses on ghosts, possessions and Celestial Masters/Ghost hunters etc. I really like the characters in this one. Same author as The Villain Has Something to Say.
I have more but I think that would be a bit much. From that list, my current favourites are: MDZS, Heaven Official's Blessing, Thousand Autumns, The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, Ghosts know and The Big Landlord. Hope you find something you like!
