I suppose it depends on what they did. I could certainly see myself getting angry enough over something really heinous and personal. However, torturing someone to death seems pointless because then eventually they die and then it's over. I oppose capital punishment, but if I wanted someone to die I'd rather it was just taken care of quickly and then steps were taken to suppress the social memory of that person so I just didn't have to think about them any more. If I wanted drawn-out suffering, I'd prefer to sentence someone to live... but always in extreme poverty or with chronic pain or to be forever shunned by society or something.
