atheist here

i went to church as a kid because that's where my mum dragged us to, but with the benefit of however many years of hindsight i don't think i ever genuinely held any real belief - religious observance was something that was expected (she went to a catholic school, but got kicked out of the church after divorce - she moved us to the united reform church after that), but not something i think i believed or "experienced" or whatever

do i think less of someone of a different belief? not necessarily, but i think less of them if they expect anyone else to make contortionist changes to accommodate their beliefs
