i don't get how they think putting an unfeeling robot on the throne will be better. it's just going to be a different kind of awful until the populace get fed up and overthrow him.

and then westeros will be right back at square one.

Gonna be hard to overthrow him with powers like that :( bran is OP, plz nerf

With Bran being unable to father children, I'm guessing that he'll adopt and Westeros will have a royal-adoption-vaguely-based-on-merit system like the later Roman Empire. So at the very least there'll be no more crazy rulers with a divine right to the throne.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-01 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
except for the north because ruling via birthright is wrong unless you're a stark.

They're a separate kingdom again now, so different rules of succession doesn't matter.

ah, so they'll become the new iron throne in a few generations, expectant of their absolute birthright and tyrants as a result of it. because this show made a point of how that kind of inherited power was bad.

won't the 3eyed Raven just inhabit/choose the next asshole? im guessing that will be the mark of succession

And, as we all know, succession went completely smoothly in the late Roman Empire!

Just, ah, ignore that Crisis of the Third Century.

And the Year of the Five Emperors.

And the Year of the Four Emperors.

And the Year of the Six Emperors.

And the whole mess that was the Tetrarchy...
