What a beautifully designed secret. Kudos, OP!

I reread my old fic a lot because I ship very rare pairings and sometimes it's all the fic there is, or almost all of it. And I seldom abandon a fandom entirely, so I suppose sometimes I have gotten back into an old fandom that way. I don't see anything wrong with it in the least.

Makes sense... if you reread your own fic, you remember what you liked about a series. It's nice to have other people's perspective on something, but maybe it's not quite the same?

This. It could even be subconscious-- you read your fic and it brings back your old fond feelings. It's not at all weird to me!

I sometimes do this. But I have very, very particular headcanons about my OTP and my favorite character, and while I will read anything featuring them, there are only a few authors who I feel get it right. I actually really hate my writing style in fics. But I love my headcanons, and I go back and reread them a lot.

+100. Absolute same. I just had that happen to me very recently in fact.

oh, i even do that lmao. it usually happens by accident but it's fun bc ofc, i write according to my very own specific interests! tbh i recently stumbled across an unfinished fic outline while looking for a different file among old junk on my computer, and now i'm going back over canon i hadn't visited in a while and hoping to finish it just bc it's funny and sappy and i forgot how much i liked it before i got busy.

i hope you're having fun, yourself~ don't stress about it too much. it makes sense to me!

Hey if you enjoy it, why not? It's good you enjoy your work, and as a fan of older fandoms, I'll take any kind of return!

I do the same tbh - for me it’s because it reminds me of what I found personally inspiring about the fandom
