The only one I can remember right now was that time in Sherlock when a bunch of people (including Anderson) are trying to figure out what happened on the rooftop at Barts and a woman proposes a theory that has Sherlock and Moriarty kissing. That whole scene was a clear reference to shippers and to fandom in general speculating on how Sherlock faked his death and it really rubbed me the wrong way. I won't say it was the only reason why I stopped watching Sherlock (there were many reasons) but it certainly contributed to it.

Sherlock definitely started annoying me a lot with its jokey references to shipping. Just tell your damn story! The 'author is dead'? Let's go with 'the audience is dead'! I wish shows would just tell their stories and not try to 'talk' to the fans in the media itself. Because it's usually cringeworthy, IMO. SPN and Supernatural are both offenders in this area.
