So far, the only thing I’ve had in common with any of the characters I’ve cosplayed is being really short (I’m also far and hairy, which none of them are), and I still had fun. Do it anyway.

Related: I want this shirt. But it was bespoke, so no hopes of tracking one down by designer on resale sites.

Buy a white button down shirt, a pack of sponges, and some blue fabric paint. Cut the sponges into wavy squares, put some cardboard inside the shirt so the paint doesn’t go through, and go to town. More expensive and time-consuming alternative—mock up fabric pattern in an image editing program, upload to spoonflower, buy custom fabric, make a shirt out of it.

op, a fat janet would be so cute! I understand if you feel discouraged (as I also have a homeresque figure) but cosplay won't be going anywhere, when you do feel ready to do it you'll still be an awesome janet <3

easier said than done ofc, bc i too sweat over how much other people will look at me and judge whether my body type suits a character enough~

BUT

at the end of the day it's just for fun and i hope you find a place where you feel comfortable having fun cosplaying what you want! plus this picture of her is so cute and looks like she's giving you the thumbs up to just go for it haha.
