I couldn't stand Rodney on Stargate SG-1, but he grew on me on Atlantis. Still, I wish there was more Ronon/John or Lorne/Sheppard. I do think that John's interactions with Todd were very interesting.

If you like gen with a Sheppard focus, Domenika Marzione has written a lot, with actual fleshed-out Marines as supporting characters.

I might take you up on that; Domenika wrote one of the best Peggy Carter fics I've ever read. (Hell, I'll go so far as to say it's one of the top 10 fanfics I've ever read.)
