It really does drive me up a wall. I mean, B5 fans were so dedicated to the notion of the arc that we sat through S1. (Then again, I'm one of those folks who doesn't think that S1 was really some abomination...it just pales in comparison to S2/3/4--but what wouldn't?)

The funny thing is, even though I've been a fan for over a decade, I've actually never seen Season 1 or Season 5...largely due to my father's dismissal of them. I have every intention of sitting down to watch them, though--possibly together with my friendslist once I can convince more of them to watch.

I think that you will find S1 much more enjoyable since you will be able to pick up on the foreshadowing. As for S5, the Byron/telepath stuff is almost indefensibly bad, but the 2nd half of the season has some really good stuff, and it's such a shame that it gets overshadowed by the crap.

Wait...does this mean you haven't seen "Sleeping in Light"?

Unfortunately yes! I kept telling my father that we had to watch that if nothing else in S5, but he kept brushing it off, and neither of us ever got around to it. Regardless of the rest of S5, I've heard nothing but good about "Sleeping in Light."

bb, you must start in on s.5 ASAP--SiL is so great that it often comes up in "greatest series finale" ever discussions. I mean, sure, I cry for 41m30s when I watch it, but...it's so good. So good. Get your dad to watch with you!!
