159. No, I'm afraid your plan backfired there, Anon. The title of the song "If You Can Afford Me" makes me think that she's just the same cheap whore I always thought she was. And "Mannequin"? The same tired lipstick feminism I've heard over and over. Sorry. If she can write sing (because she can't possibly write her own songs) something else, I might reconsider.

But s/he wasn't talking about the song, the OP said that they'd always thought Katy Perry was a cheap whore. Using "whore" as an insult negates any kind of feminist message you're trying to impart.

I disagree with you that Ms Perry deserves any of the shit thats thrown her way (although Im not really a fan of her stuff, I acknowledge that just a taste thing, and I think some of the people bashing her show themselves to be real cunts.) but I am glad somone is putting up the "calling somone a whore is the polar oppoiste of feminism" argument.

Unfortunatly, even if the anon hadn't used the word whore, she still woulda been thinking it, and would continue to think it about whoever she wants. She would also continue to belive this is her duty as a feminist. to call out the 'wrong' types of women. Im sure your aware that you cant make people think in a non-cunty ways (sorry for using that word twice now, but i cant think of another word as strong or as appropriate to express how I feel about these people.) so unfortunatly, the responcibility is on you (and me) to just accept that this attitude is seemingly a large part of modern feminism, and weep for it.
