I'd rather people just recommend things than worry about what I've seen, since I haven't seen a lot, but I'm pretty familiar with the Golden Age writers, I've read some Hammett, Chandler, and James Crumley, and I've seen Columbo and a few other standard mystery shows.

I can't speak for others, but for me it's not so much worrying about what you've seen, but not wanting to waste my time typing up a list of stuff you already know about, and maybe seeing some of the things you like will remind me of other things. Also, different people mean different things by "classic" and "standard", so specifics are more helpful.
