How many books do you read a year?

And while we're here, how quick of a reader are you?

For the past five or so years, I have only read 4-5. This year, my goal is to read 20 books. I got 6 down. Speed isn't an issue, I am a very fast reader. I just have to get myself interested in them.

About a hundred. I try to read a book a day.

I read about 40-45 books a year, and though some of them are definitely on the short side (poetry etc.), there's usually few bricks in there as well.

I try to re-read Night Watch every year on the May 25th. This year it took me about 3½ hours. Obviously re-reads are always faster and Pratchett's work is definitely not on the heaviest side. I'm still pretty fast.

About 6-7 depending on what has grabbed me, not the most but I'm happy enough with that.

About 85-100 give or take, I'd say. Sometimes I have comic or manga phases and then it's a bit less.

If it's YA and I have time for reading, I usually finish the book within a day or two maximum, same with adult novels with around 300 pages. 500+ pages it's usually 3-4 days. It really all depends on my work schedule. If I enjoy a book, I finish it in less than a week no matter what. So I guess I'm not the fastest, but pretty fast overall?

Reading slumps suck, though. I just came out of one and now I need to choose my next book wisely as to not fall back into it.

Maybe 10-15, a mix of enjoyable children's literature, self-help books, and technical coursebooks.

I read over 200 last year.

And a quick reader, which is how I got all those books read.

I honestly have no idea. I don't get through as many books as I used to because I don't have as much free time, unfortunately. But I'm a fairly fast reader if we're talking your average fiction novel and not something ponderously literary or dry non-fiction. Definitely a couple books per week, minimum.

About 200 on average each year.

I can read really fast but I've never counted. Probably a very high number, I read a lot.

Through most of my twenties I was reading 40-50 books a year. The last few years I've only read maybe 5 books per year. At some point I'll probably go through a phase where I read more again, but I'm not worried about it either way. Right now I'm more into doing the most challenging logic puzzles I can find. And reading fanfic.

I'm a slow reader. 30-40 pages an hour has always been my average speed, regardless of whether I'm reading Gravity's Rainbow or Twilight.

I'm a fast reader. I can read a couple hundred or so pages in an hour. that being said, I do a lot less fun reading than I used to given that I do a lot of reading for my career. Probably read 30 to 40 books a year right now.

Um. Wow. If i just sit down and read, I can read almost any book in a day. Anything over about 400 pages is going to take a couple. I read probably 200 books a year? Since I can't read (books) at work. Never really counted.

Probably around 100? I'm a fast reader and I read a lot of cozy mysteries, which aren't really long reads, so it's not unusual for me to get through three or four of them in a weekend.

I used to read anywhere from 50-100 books a year when I started with Bookcrosing over 15 years ago. Now I barely crack 30.
