NA but do you mind if I ask why? It seems like the kind of future that almost anyone could fit into - if anything, that seems like the point of it

there was only one character I've ever seen in any version of Star Trek who seemed like he had Asperger's like I do and most of the other characters really disliked him.
I can't get a job in this world. I'm not good at science or tech stuff at all and all the jobs in Trek pretty much revolve around that sort of thing.
All the women in Trek are beautiful. I look terrible.

There were lots of planets in the Trek universe, though. You don't have to join Starfleet. Just pick a planet to settle on. You could still take advantage of all the technological and societal developments.

Do you mean Barclay? Because they didn't dislike him as much as they were exasperated by his behavior-- he was a valuable asset to the crew and people reached out to him all the time. He was welcomed, for the most part.

That said, staying on Earth (or the Moon colony!) would be a perfectly feasible option if you didn't go into Starfleet; as Troi said in First Contact, "poverty, disease, war" would all be things of the past, and you could live happily doing whatever you liked.

I didn't mean Barclay, I was thinking of Tam Elbrun. My best friend, whom I've been talking to about this thread, thought I was talking about Barclay too. And even Barclay was good at his job once he focused.
