Right? Like, I understand when people say the book can be interpreted either way, that they're just really close friends/bonded after so many years, not necessarily a couple. But I feel like Neil wrote the script in a way to rub it into the faces of the, "OH NO THERE IS NO WAY THEY COULD EVER BE GAAAAAAY!" people.

They're so fabulously in love it just pours from the screen. I love it.

God, the way Crowley just sits all chin in hand watching him eat? And those looks in the last scene at the Ritz. Ugh. Heart eyes motherfucker.

I didn't think it was possible to get gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide but God bless 'em, they managed it.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, yes, they did! Nice shout-out!

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Bless you for this comment <3

This just skyrocketed to the top of my watch list.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
I Haven't read the book but i am here i ship and stan thr gayness

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I was so, so happy.

I had a mild concern that they'd sort of dial back the gay somewhat for the show, but nope! They really hammed it up and I love it. So much.

They're both played perfectly.

I was so hesitant about DT not because I don't love him, but because sometimes I find it hard not to see HIM, but he and Michael Sheen were just perfect, and they had such wonderful chemistry.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen the show but from the pics they are indeed just perfect. I've seen a few people complaining because they aren't young and hot, the idea of Arizaphale as a hot young bookseller is just too ridiculous.

/ex-bookseller

and yuppies aren't hot either

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Lol I am sure the people complaining have never read the book descriptions.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
I never pictured Aziraphale as looking especially young or hot, but I definitely pictured him looking younger and hotter that Stephen Fry, which was the casting suggestion I kept hearing fans make for the character for years and years. I'm quite happy with Michael Sheen, which is funny because he's now nearly a decade older than Fry was back when I first heard people suggesting him, and I balked over the idea of Fry because he wasn't young or hot enough for my taste even back then. (Of course, I was younger then, too, so my definition of "young" was different).

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
imo Michael Sheen is just a much better actor than Fry

(not necessarily more talented overall but definitely a better actor)

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
And a much better person.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
+1

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
THIS. Fry is so up himself it isn't funny.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
I know! Crowley just wants to run away with Aziraphale.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
SAAAAAME

My partner knows I used to read slash fic and I was desperately trying to keep the hearts out of my eyes while watching.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
They weren't even subtle about it.

*End scene with C&A in the Ritz*
*Nightingale in Berkley square plays and end credits roll*
"...It was such a romantic affair, and as we kissed goodnight. .."

Me: what is Neil trying to tell us here??

I have nothing to say besides that ice cream looks very pathetic. One dinky scoop of vanilla, really? I'm offended.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-11 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a 99 (vanilla ice cream, with a Cadbury's flake in it). An icon of British culture. And now I want one.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
Seems like the kind of ice cream a repressed angel would choose.
