160 I kind of agree... of course, I'm not sure how things work these days -- back in the day you had to pay about $5-6 for four episodes on a SVHS tape, and all that money went into shipping and into the cost of making the tapes. I don't know what the costs are of fansubbing these days. I agree that they shouldn't make a profit but if they have expenses they can't cover there goes your precious free anime.

162 I can see that. Also this secret makes me sad since I tried to watch The Great Mouse Detective with my preschoolers the other day and all of them were too bored and/or scared to make it through the whole movie. -_-;

This particular group only did two episodes of a particular anime after all the other subbers dropped it. They were really cruddy subs and then the subber asks for money? Why? They have no site to support. Nothing. They're basically asking for pure profit for a poorly constructed and illegal product! Um...NO!

Some of the fansubbing groups need money for bandwidth and the like. I'd donate to Central Anime in a heartbeat.
