160 - Wow. So what do you say about donating to the folks who fansub things that will NEVER make it to your country? Not even a spare dollar here or there to help them pay for their webspace so they can host those precious downloads you're so eager to snap up? Don't get me wrong, I applaud you for buying the licensed product and supporting the industry...but really, to have no gratitude to the people who put hours upon hours of effort into uploading, translating, timing and torrenting the file just so you can see it months, sometimes years, before your own country puts it on TV/DVD?

Kinda biting the hand that feeds you, no? They're not asking you to PAY for your subs, but to merely toss them some spare change to help keep the distribution process going--you do realize that they're putting their own time and money into this just to give to the fans, right? =\

168 - Don't knock it 'til you've tried it. And if you have and it's so easy for you...well, are you published yet? Incidentally, I hope you spend more of your time doing something of consequence like...encouraging your friends and offering to beta their work for them, pushing them towards the publisher's office to the best of your abilities instead of...well, either intentionally or unintentionally, insulting them and a large number of people who also enjoy the hobby of writing fanfiction.

These subbers don't have webspace. In fact, they only have two episodes to their name. Two very crappy episodes and they have the audacity to ask for money? No. Just no.

I wasn't aware they were talking about a specific group at all--they just said "But there's no way in hell I'll ever DONATE money to a fansubber"--no one specific there. If the quality is poor, then of course, don't donate until they give decent quality. Clearly, not all fansubbers produce the same quality, so support those who do a good job and leave the rest. =\

Boy, me, too! Everyone else in the car (and the girl who hit us) was hysterical and I was cracking up. ...which I think just scared them more, now that I think about it...XD

But it's not like anyone was hurt! I was the only one to sustain any injuries, and it was just a bump on my elbow and a headache! :P

How long ago was this? You don't have any residual headaches, right? =o If so, plz to be seeing a chiropractor to see if the vertebrae in your neck slipped out or rotated a little. If that's not the case, then it's probably a mild concussion...I'm sure you're fine either way, but be careful and keep track of that sort of thing if it happens, ok? D:

I have been told several times that I make hard times amusing. Whether it's because I'm a klutz who's always the one to get hurt (the accident included) or because I somehow make things funny otherwise, I wouldn't know. XD

Ah, it was August of last year, and I got checked out as soon as I possibly could. (Believe me, I watch House - I made sure I covered everything. XD) The doctor said I had a very mild concussion at the time, and it didn't have any lasting effects (despite what my friends say! Haha) so everything's fine now. I'm touched that you worried, though. :3

LOL, sometimes, that is the best defense. It's like the stress and tension can be destroyed if you go at it with good humor. :3

Ohh, I see! Well, I'm happy to hear there was no lasting damage. I work as a masseuse, so I see a lot of people who get into all sorts of accidents and come off with seemingly minor injuries and don't pay much thought to it--only to find out later that it was something they really should have checked out immediately. D:

It's always worked for me! Of course, people who don't know me well enough often call me callous, but lucky I'm not one of those who care what other people think. XD;

Man, that sounds bad. D: I hate when my friends will have a problem like that and laugh it off, like "Nah, I always get headaches!" or "It's not a lot of blood." :/ It drives me crazy, 'cause I always assume the worst.

Nahh, callous is when you just don't give a shit who you're upsetting--you just have different coping mechanisms. Fandom is great for that. XD

It is pretty bad--but I guess that's the kind of society we live in these days. We just keep pushing ourselves until we're broken. D:

Well, honestly, I don't, usually. I mean...I try to edit myself, but I still end up offending people, so I eventually stopped trying so hard. >.>; But not with things like death or injury! ...bad injury!

Guh, I know. It's scary. I just wish I could force my friends to deal with their problems. (Haha, I wonder how many of my friends say that about me! XDD)
