I'm confused why his expressing his opinion is objectionable.

Has he done something to try and stop them?

Can't they simply not listen?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-12 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It's only objectionable if you're an entitled fan who disapproves of actors doing anything that's not specifically for your amusement.

Other than the fridge scene, the Crystal Skull wasn't a bad movie. CHANGE MY MIND.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-12 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It depends on what you mean by "bad", I guess. It's thoroughly mediocre and flawed, and significantly worse than the rest of the series, but it's still a watchable movie.

"their treasure was knowledge. KNOWLEDGE WAS THEIR TREASURE"

(in all seriousness i actually enjoyed crystal skull, mostly because karen allen was amazing in it)
osidiano: Leia Organa covering her face with her hand, in defeat or grief (weep)

All the other movies had magic and miracles (the Sankara stones and mind control potion in Temple of Doom, the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail), but in this one the telepathic crystal skulls of Akator are really just aliens. Because the Mayans and people of Peru couldn't have built stuff on their own like everyone else, I guess. :\

I loved every single part about that movie. Yes, including the fridge. And the alien CGI. It's not good, but it's ENJOYABLE. I laughed at it. I had fun while watching. That's enough for a movie.

I find it hilarious that people universally pan this movie when Temple of Doom exists.

It's not his call to make but he certainly has a right to express his opinion. Absolutely bewildering secret.

As the titular character and the one who made him iconic...

(Anonymous) 2019-06-12 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
he is absolutely entitled to an opinion. It isn't his call because he doesn't own the franchise, nor is his the only creative input, but I believe it should have some weight.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Bit anti-worker, isn't it?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, I agree with you. It's easy for him to get away with because it's not very kosher to like Chris Pratt right now, but it's not very classy.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Would you also object if he enthusiastically expressed his support for the project?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
No. Unlike the OP I don't think his opinion will affect anything.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
So I guess to me, it doesn't seem like you have a problem with Ford expressing his opinion, you just dislike what he's saying? And I suspect it's probably the same for OP.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 06:42 am (UTC)(link)
+1 it's so transparent & pretty pathetic to try and frame being upset at a differing opinion as someone ~not knowing their place~

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
He’s not wrong. We should be able to appreciate movies for what they are without feeling the need to incessantly remake reboot spinoff sequel midquel prequel reboot again after 5 years. Stuff can be over. It’s fine.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
There's no law that says you have to watch them.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt I know, but I feel like I'm not a real fan if I don't keep up on stuff.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, OP but I'm with Harrison Ford here. I don't want to watch an Indiana Jones film without him! Sure, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull wasn't great but imo wasn't the travesty it was made out to be. I don't trust a film made with another actor to capture the magic of the earlier films.
And no actor working today can emulate the effortless charisma of the younger Harrison Ford. I like Chris Pratt- he's closest to me- but he's still no Harrison.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Co-signed, except I am indifferent to Chris Pratt. Regardless, I don't want to see anyone but Harrison Ford play Indy.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
It's hard to imagine a circumstance where you would ever have to.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-13 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
The thing is tho - Harrison and his take on the character were the entire draw to the first movie and why there even is a franchise in the first place. OFC he can't officially block a new take on it but if anyone has a right to feel how they do about the character originated with him it's him.
