Yes, I could see how that would be very frustrating.

It varies by the story, but the monsters tend not to switch back to human, and many of them come in two parts: A for the slow burn romance and cuddling, and B for the smut. From how you describe your friend I think they might still be a bit too conventionally attractive, but, well, it's all I got.
