Congrats, that's awesome :D! Enjoy your three days off, too!

Mild Spoilers

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
Word of God so take it as you will. Crowley is the guy who styles himself on action cinema, but he's really just a dork who has to explain his evil to other demons, using an overhead transparency projector. They're not impressed.

Re: Good Omens fans - who was/is your ideal casting for Crowley and Aziraphale?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
I actually wanted Tennant to play Crowley. I posted a secret about it here years ago and everything.
sabotabby: (books!)

That was one of my favourite scenes among many favourite scenes.

Re: Oh man.

I mean, for me, the book depictions had a big say in the show portrayal (not just because the surviving writer was in charge, but because so much of the cast and crew were fans of the book as well), so you not having read the book and not "getting it" kinda...makes sense. That's just the flavor of the thing.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Same. I really wasn't sold on the promos and stills despite liking both actors, but seeing them in action was perfect.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Technically only attempted murder, really.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not all destruction on a mass scale is genocide. She very specifically targeted only the slavers/people in charge when she took a city. Women and children, generally the biggest targets in a genocide, were protected.

The battle tactics in the final season were an absolute joke overall.

Uh, she killed everyone in King's Landing?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean, I loved how they showed the scorpion crossbows as being difficult to use during the Lannister/Tarly battle with Dany, only for Euron to use them like a fucking machine gun, and then subverting expectations again by the crossbows being super difficult to use.

Re: I'd be chased off the internet for this, but

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
No. So glad that didn’t happen.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Straight out of a Monty Python gag.

"What makes you think he's a murderer?"

"Oh, he helped stab me to death."

A moment of silent staring.

"I got better."

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Well damn...

Re: What do you want more movies/shows of?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Dragons. I’d want a Temeraire series before a Pern one, but I think a Pern series would appeal to a wider, ‘used to Game of Thrones’ audience.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I mean they're thousands of years old and it's the end of the world, so you're not wrong.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly!

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Not /everyone/. Just a lot of people. And even if she killed every last person, it still wouldn't be genocide, because the rest of Westeros was fine. Definitely mass murder, just not genocide.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! this is how I feel about Lion King too.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
I for one love the "Long Night" tactics where we completely misuse trebuchets, infantry, siege tactics, and several kinds of fire. And also forget how the dead people work. Several times.

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
I try to be open about book to film adaptations, since I know they'll never fit the look/mannerisms that I love so much from the books. It's a par for the course sort of thing;;

(Anonymous) 2019-06-19 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Perfect picture choice!
kaijinscendre: (me when tired)

[personal profile] kaijinscendre 2019-06-19 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
genocide: the deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group or nation.

Like the people of King's Landing. I find it really fucking weird that this is some kind of hill you want to die on.

I find nothing wrong with his hairstyle!
