Basically the first episode was released to great critic and audience reviews but it was announced it was cancelled. They are still going to air the rest of the season (ten episodes). There were a bunch of rumors about why it was cancelled.

The first one was that is was cancelled over creative differences.

The second was that someone forgot to file some paperwork that would save them money in tax rebates.

The third is that they were just denied the rebates.

The fourth (and apparently true) reason is that is just cost way too much like. Like the pilot alone cost $20 million dollars. That is insane.

that's the same thing that happened to Terra Nova on FOX. The series was several million dollars an episode so even in the dinosaur-lite eps, they were still spending a fortune. but they screwed us with a cliffhanger anyway, even knowing it wasn't going to get renewed. still mad hahaha

I just wish they would at least tell the creators beforehand so they can wrap up a story line. I bet this will have a cliffhanger. :/

Still mad about that too. I liked Terra Nova.

I also heard a couple months back that the first season was supposed to be longer but in the middle of production the creators were told they would have to wrap up the overall story in a couple less episodes than planned. I don't know if that also points to budget issues but I heard there could have been creative disagreements from the start. Sounds like such a mess.

Apparently they shorted the season because it was so expensive.
