I'm a lesbian. I loved FF7 and I'm very excited for FF7R.

I do not in any way believe that Aerith nor Tifa are lesbians, especially not for each other, and I feel insanely alienated by the "they're girlfriends and if you disagree you're literally Hitler." It feels so much like the old "pair the girls and ignore them so I can slash the guy they're in love with" thing that fandoms used to do (because of course it's to make way for either Sephiroth/Cloud or Zack/Cloud), and I hate that so much I don't have proper words for it.

As another lesbian and a huge FF7 fan, that's hilarious if that's a real sentiment.

I actually like Aeris/Tifa a lot, and Aeris gives me bi vibes. I don't know, I like thinking she thinks Tifa is hot. But for the most part, it's blatantly a crack pairing. There's really nothing that could be read as a wink and a nod, or let alone substantive subtext.
