A billion time yes to all of this ! It was so frustrating. Moreso, because he became possessed to save them, if I remember correctly. Cole deserved better.

I am usually mostly about the female characters in whatever I watch. This show was an exception, and I stopped watching over what they did to Cole. So i feel you, OP.

The writers wanted us to go 'Dude, move on!' but I don't think they meant us to think that because PHOEBE IS HELLA TOXIC, MAN, YOU CAN DO BETTER!

Julian McMahon deserves all the props for being charismatic and interesting enough for me to keep watching while Cole got emotionally eviscerated with no reward at the end.

(I kept wishing for it despite knowing full well that the writers were cracked enough to believe Phoebe was a good person.)
