It's just trite now. Battlestar's was cool, House's is just overdone.

It's not like Battlestar's was the first. People have been doing homages to that painting for ages. If House's is trite, I don't see how Battlestar's is any less so.

Because it's another TV show to do it, not that long after Battlestar's. I'm not saying Battlestar pioneered the magic of making homages to famous paintings; I'm just saying it's become annoyingly unoriginal in my opinion. When Battlestar did it I was pleasantly surprised, and House just made me think, "Oh, you too?"
