Okay, rabid fangirl, this would be more fun if you weren't anon.

I did not say he was an addict. He obviously needed help, anyone that relied on medication so much that they accidentally kill themselves needed help before they died.

Actually, barbiturates are notoriously known for being prescribed very close to lethal levels, since that's what's apparently required for them to be effective medication -- which means overdosing on them is as simple as taking one or two extra tablets. Combined with other factors like alcohol, body weight, and a person's overall tolerance to a drug, it's amazingly simple to overdose on this stuff and incredibly hard to accurately determine when an overdose can occur. And that's when you're taking just one prescription. Throw in other types of anxiety medication and the risk increases even more.

It doesn't exactly mean that someone was overly dependent on a drug or somehow needed help, unless you consider insomnia/anxiety needing help...but that was what the drugs were for, so you know.
