Songs that give you all the feelings (the good, the bad, and the ugly)

For me, it's The Movie in My Mind from Miss Saigon. Like, it literally puts my hair on end every time it comes up on shuffle.

A Call to Arms from the original World of Warcraft soundtrack

I'm gonna feel slightly guilty rolling Horde on Classic

Twilight of the Innocents by Ash. Not one of their more well-known tracks, but it evokes so many feelings for me.

I Will Wait - Mumford and Sons

At least half the numbers from Les Mis, tbh

I cried at The Gay Pirate Song like, the first three or four times I listened? It's worn off a little since then, but jeeze.

(I'm probably going to come back and add replies to this as I think of things)

'Winter' by Tori Amos and 'This Woman's Work' by Kate Bush are two songs that are 100% guaranteed to make me cry, every time.

How do you like your tacos?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-22 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Soft shell or hard? Do you prefer Taco Bell or only authentic Mexican street tacos for you? What filling do you like?

Re: How do you like your tacos?

(Anonymous) 2019-06-22 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Soft shell only. Hard tacos don't even make sense to me. I generally prefer tacos more on the authentic side - if I'm going to Taco Bell or Del Taco or a place like that, I usually get burritos. Gimme a pastor taco any day.

I like al pastor, carne asada, carnitas, chorizo, chile verde, chicken and shrimp tacos, with sour cream, a little hot sauce, a wedge of avocado and a squeeze of lime. I consider myself lucky to live in the SF bay area for a lot of reasons, one of which being it's ridiculously easy to find good tacos and other Mexican food here.

What counts as "authentically Mexican?"

I don't like Taco Bell at all, but I'm also not a connoisseur of Mexican food and am not picky as long as it tastes good and isn't too spicy.

I like soft tacos. I'm a vegetarian but there are a couple of restaurants where I can get them made with meat substitute and they're not bad. They're probably pretty inauthentic though (I mean besides the fact that the meat is fake.)

I will drag myself over glass for Tex-Mex tempura fish crispy tacos from Fuzzy's Taco Shop.

Soft because there is no way to eat hard shell tacos without making a huge mess. IDK who on earth ever thought they were a good idea in the first place, they're impossible to eat.

Definitely prefer the street food version - chorizo, tongue, al pastor, etc. with onion, cilantro, a squeeze of lime and the homemade sauces from the hole in the wall Mexican place in my hometown. Preferably with a tall, cold horchata.

Al pastor street tacos are my favorite, but I generally enjoy most tacos. I had Korean tacos recently and they were bomb. I don’t like Del Taco or Taco Bell though. Both of those places gave me the runs.

Soft. Also strangely, Mexican is the ONE food we don't really have a lot of authentic places in my area. Persian, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Indian, Lebanese, Afghan, really, pick anything BUT Mexican and you can throw a stone and hit a place. So yeah, I make do with Chipotle and Taco Bell, sadly.

I like both soft and hard. I like authentic tacos and also Taco Cabana. Taco Bell is too greasy and I'm not a fan.

Fillings: chicken or beef or fish, pico de gallo or mild salsa, sour cream, cheese, tomato, little bit of lime juice, onions, sometimes bell pepper.

It's still doing the comment thing and that's really annoying because I don't know what happened or how to change it back.

Anyone have some good Thorin/Thanduil recs since I finally just watched the movies. Will also accept Thranduil/Bard fics.
