Weeeeellllll has your friend liked any of the stuff you recommended that she DID watch? Cause I am your friend in my own scenario with my friend. We recommend each other stuff. AFAIK she’s liked 90% of what I’ve recommended, and I;be liked 10% of what she’s recommended, so i’m Not exactly excited to watch new stuff she gets into on account of her taste just not clicking with mine :/

Yes she has. And a lot of the times she did she'll suddenly start talking about this amazing new show/book/series she got into as if I hadn't recommended to her months ago.

You sound weirdly possessive over the notion of being the one to have recced the thing to her. Get over yourself.

AYRT - Nah, OP's fine. You seem weirdly intent upon making OP out to be the jerk in this scenario.

Lol it's amazing you somehow constructed an obsession out of two comments by an anonymous person without any additional information but you do you.

My husband does this. He very rarely watches anything I recommend, even though I know he'll love it, until someone else (usually a workmate) recommends it.

My family do this, it drives me mad.

NAYRT, but have you tried saying “oh good, I’m so glad you liked my recommendation,” and/or “I was starting to think you didn’t like any of the things I recommended to you,” or similar?

I have, but I'm not pushy because I don' want to be an ass about it. In the end, it's sad if she dismisses things I recommend to her, but if she doesn't want to watch it, I'm not going to insist. What annoys me is that she keeps trying to make me watch stuff she recommended to me together with her even though I told her I'm not too interested about it and then gets sulky when I don't want to.
