Lol, didn't know that about Tom Ellis. Now I'm remembering how the idea of a female minister made our church people gird their loins when I was growing up. Thank goodness that's not so much a thing anymore, but it makes me think how random the the rules we followed were.

Tom Ellis in an interview -

“My dad’s a pastor. My uncle’s a pastor. My sister’s a pastor. I grew up on the very human side of Christianity, so messages in the household I grew up in were about peace, love and being understanding of everybody, which I think is quite cool. And with regard to this [Ellis playing Lucifer], they’re all super-excited I’m doing it.”

Seems nearly every interview brings it up now, I think a lot of interviewers are familiar with the Hell and Brimstone style of christianity and expect his family to have disowned him somewhat.

Lucifer's portrayal and the way he's written is actually more accurate than anyone getting offended would understand. It's not offensive if you know your stuff.
