I remember this comment. I'm not sure if they just bit off more than they could chew, or if it's some kind of manager who way overbooked the dates... either way, stretching your money thin, and your fanbase even thinner is the complete opposite way to do good business.
Fans will travel within reason to an event the want to see, that said, the event still has to be worth attending...
The whole thing seems like a recipe for disaster.

They probably overstretched their budget (no wonder with the amount of "buy one pass get x free" ads they did) and failed to report proper taxes. Then they couldnt afford tonpay their celebrity guests.

Stephen Amell used the HVFF to boost his own (shitty) wine company, so that was a red flag foe anyone who hoped for any professionalism. The refunds are not being paid right now, and there is huge discontent on a lot of facebook groupd. 111 The lack of clear communication, no actions and basically "waiting for time to pass til paypal refund claims expire" have given a huge dent into the reputation.
