That writer who got caught up in wank a few years ago about his book that was set in Turkey, where the first problem occurred in the first sentence of the book which stated that Istanbul was Turkey's capital.

Any lawyer show where lawyers introduce last minute evidence in court that they haven't already given to the other side.

A lawyer who practices in one area is also an expert in every other area of law.

Whichever side the show wants you to root for is the good guys, and the other side is evil. The real nuance of the courtroom doesn't show up.

TV courtrooms are much faster-paced than real life. Also there is much less paperwork.

Was reading a fic set in the middle east in, like, the fourteenth century? And the main character used potatoes in something and I just immediately closed the tab.

This hasn’t happened in a while, but I’ve read a few books where a character’s introduced as being fluent in Spanish, but when they speak it, it’s grammatically incorrect or a word is wrong. I just ignored it because maybe the author couldn’t get a hold of a Spanish speaker and used some free translation software.

CSI New York had an episode where a Japanese restaurant was openly serving fugu. It's completely illegal to serve fugu in any restaurant in the US. Even in Japan there are very strict laws regulating selling and serving fugu.
