118: What's wrong with angels having sex? I'm not too sure about the mythology, but a lot of the source material could have many different interpretations, right? There are lots of different types of angels in fiction, after all.

149: Well, I don't have het and slash ships for every canon; for some canons I only like het and for others I only like slash. But yeah, mostly it's a mixture. When it comes to reading fanfic though I'm only interested in slash (and I see no problem with the opposite), though.

There are a lot of arguments that could be made about angelic and demonic gender. It's a sticky subject and lots of theological scholars have taken on this problem. (It's one of the really interesting bits of the Malleus Mallificarum, actually-- if Demons are made of the same stuff as Angels, how could they copulate with human women?)

It's not the angel having sex, it's that he's in someone else's body. I think Misha Collins is hot as fire, love SPN like burning and would be all for Dean/Castiel.

IF Castiel hadn't said he was possessing someone else. Whose body would be nonconsensually violated if Dean and Castiel had sex using it.

IF someone wants to write Dean/Castiel where Castiel isn't in someone's body and telepathically gets Dean off or something I'm ok with that, but I don't want to read about someone having sex with a possessed person.

The depends one whether or not the person consented to being possessed. Has that been definitively stated one way or the other?

I think you can make a very good case for the fact that consenting to be possessed by an angel doesn't necessarily constitute possession for the angel to use your body for sex. Presumably the very devout man (who did consent to it) was thinking that Castiel would use his body to do holy things, not fornicate with a human being.

Entirely beside the point. He loaned his body out, and as long as he gets it back in good condition, he doesn't have room to complain. I mean, possessed by an angel!

this is similar in nature to the logic which says if you consent to dinner and a movie, you've consented to sex. You don't have a problem with that?

I don't think it is, if there was no stipulation of "what is the angel gonna do while possessing me." If it's "angel-dude's gonna use my body for whatever he needs to get done while on earth" then the body's usual host made that call already. Since we clearly have no idea how the deal played out with the original owner (if, indeed, he's still around), you can go on thinking the guy was possessed not of his own free will or agreed to a certain set number of situations and I will think that he gave blanket approval to anything the angel needed/wanted to do while on earth.

Given that the guy is obviously very devout, I would guess he would think anything an angel would do in his body was holy. He--the man--would not presume to decide what was good or not. The angel, since he's following God's commands, would by default do what's right.

So the question would be Castiel's motives for sleeping with Dean. If it was God's plan, or if God just didn't mind it, I guess it would be considered okay. Because God's got no problem with gay sex.:-)

On the other hand, you could also make a good case for the idea that since this person is consenting in the first place, they might also have a back and forth relationship with the angel where they can speak to each other and so Castiel can get permission to do this first.

See I don't mind reading about it, I just wouldn't want to see it happen in canon no matter how much I'd like to see some m/m action on the show. Same with having no problems with people who want to write fanfic for Ruby/Sam or YED/either boy or whatever. Just wouldn't want it to happen in canon.
