Re: Who do you want to stay in the Democratic primaries?

I have awesome insurance through my job. It took me a decade to get promoted to a position where I was eligible for it. But I remember the terror of being uninsured, and if Medicare For All, a public option, single payer, or whatever, would offer me (and everyone else) the same level of coverage without having to jump through insurance company hoops while ill or recovering? I would absolutely give up my employee plan.

Also, people who have other insurance (from their spouse, parents, etc) at my job can cash out their benefit payments to the tune of an extra $10,000 per year. If I had government provided healthcare and could cash out my benefits, it would amount to something like a 55% raise, since I make less than $20,000 a year if I don’t count my health benefits.
