Nope. It's been some years since I watched the movie but I seem to recall that Angela was mute from the trauma for most (if not all) of it.

There were sequels, each of them worse than the last, and in those the character always presented as female as far as I remember, but I think that's mostly because they dropped the whole "Angela was a boy!" from the first one and just focused on the killings.

I think it's in the second movie where they mention that Angela transitioned while in therapy after the events of the first movie.
