Yeah, I'm a member of the LGBT+ community, but cis and I need to gently say that and there is a problem with the people on social media taking stuff that isn't trans or even meant to be trans (drag, unrelated crossdressing) as either "the most transphobic thing ever" or "positive trans stuff!" when it's neither. In general social media right now doesn't get GNC narratives, or simple drag plots (like character has to crossdress to get out of a dangerous situation, no offensive jokes are made along the way and they promptly peel out of the dress after) are generally not transphobic or trans affirming and are just a thing that has nothing to do with trans narratives at all.

(Note that some aspects of drag can be transphobic but there's also trans drag queens. For example, the late Lady Chablis, and a bunch more here https://rupaulsdragrace.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Transgender_Queens)

That and there's a big problem with young trans kid trying to say things like someone making a transphobic joke means a character is really trans you guys! For example when they were trying to say Samus was really trans beacause of a really transphobic joke made ages ago in 90s or earlier where the dude was drunk during the interview.

There's a difference between going "fuck this transphobic interview, I'm headcanoning Samus as a trans girl to spite them" and just full out saying a creator making a blatant homophobic or transphobic joke actually means it's progressive and this transphobic and homophobic creator is actually the best ally you guyys!" It is genuinely exhausting to continually have people in fandom take really offensive jokes or whatnot as "LGBT+ confirmed! The creator is now LGBT+ ally!" all the while tearing up LGBT+ creators like Rebecca Sugar for literally anything.

A more recent example of the last point is the artist of Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan getting huffy about people who couldn't tell one of his characters was female because of his art style and then basically going "you know what, just picture her as something inbetween if you wanna insult my art style, suckers".
