I really like the design of this secret, OP. What font is that?

I may have daydreamed about having a big fandom around something I've made once or twice. Don't tell anyone.

I want my work to have its own fandom so I can anonymously contribute to it and see if anyone can ever figure out it's me.

I want it so I can argue with stans about what should and should not be canon because I'm petty af.

Me too! I want to write "fanfics" with ships that I could see happening but don't canonically happen, and then sit back and observe how fans take it. And if my work is a series, I want to write one fanfic that "called it!" about something, just to amaze my fanfic fans who don't realize that I didn't "call it", I just freaking knew it because I'm the actual author. I will also include details that were in my head all along but didn't make it to the finished product for one reason or another (such as, yeah, this character is supposed to be ace and really loves mushrooms on her pizza, but neither of those things were relevant during the events that went on so I had no opportunity to be blatant about them).

Then maybe, a couple of years later, I will do a reveal and watch the fandom explode. The people who loved my fics can feel smug about having picked the best "ficcer" to love. The people who liked my "headcanons" and emulated them in their fics can feel super smug because those things are now almost canon and they have been using them in their fics for ages now. The people who hadn't read anything from me have new stuff to check out. And everyone now has new pseudo-canonical things to obsess over for a while.

I'd say yes, I feel like that as well on occasion. But then I remember all the weird and sometimes downright offensive stuff fandom does to characters and I'm way too possessive/protective of my characters that I end up glad nothing of mine will likely ever have a fandom.
