I disagree about Woody leaving his friends behind.
Woody realized that if Bonnie lost him she wouldn't miss him but if she lost Forky or maybe Jessie she would be upset. Woody has no obligation to keep being Bonnie's toy just so he could sit in a closet and be happy that his friends are being played with. There's more to a toy's life than just being ONE child's toy that mostly stays in her room/house. That is a path many toys take, but in Toy Story 3 we see toys can also be the kind of toy that is played with by many at a daycare or school. And then there's Toy Story 4 where Bo and her peers are lost toys that do whatever they want. It was really beautiful that Woody and Bo Peep reunite and go on their own adventures rather than dedicate their lives to finding a child to exclusively play with them for a few years.
