Toy Story 4 ended with Woody leaving his friends for Bo. If the writers intended for Woody to realize that it’s okay not to continue devoting his life to one child at a time, it didn’t do a good job. If being a lost toy is so awesome why didn’t he try and get all his friends to leave too? If Bonnie loves Forky so much why didn’t he try to keep the good old gang together and persuade them since they’re destined to be forgotten too? Why is the dealbreaker Bonnie not playing with him for the third time when Andy hadn’t played with him in years?

I know Bo looks hot now and people ditch their friends for their significant others all the time but if I wanted realism I can just watch some documentary about toys instead of this movie.

Because it wasn't his choice to make for them, and they wanted to stick with Bonnie while he didn't, dude. It's not that deep. He respected their choices, and they respected his.

Where's that conversation that ended with everyone respecting everyone's choices? When did Pixar introduce telepathy into the Toy Story franchise?

I'm sorry, do you need literally everything spoonfed to you for you to understand it? It was clear. It's always been clear. That's how they function as a group, by respecting and uplifting the individuals. That's what this entire goddamned movie was about, that people change and move on and have different desires than they once did and that's okay. And they'll love each other regardless.

That's what literally the entire Toy Story series has been about: people changing and growing and moving on and coming to terms with it.

I'm sorry you don't think Woody knows his friends well enough to know what they want. If they wanted to stick with him, they wouldn't have needed convincing to go after him. They just would have done it.

That would be like if I told all my coworkers to quit their jobs with me so they could retire with me. We all have different paths in life, even if they intersect from time to time.
