I commented on this in the Too Lazy secret thread, but totally this! I have nothing particularly against Steve/Peggy, but they felt like they had moved on and I like Peggy/Daniel. They could have given him a nice ending without shitting all over the TV series, thank you very much!

Nice photo choice btw!

This, exactly. She got to be *her own person* not 'Steve's Girlfriend' or 'Steve's Wife'. I'm sure she delt with a lot of 'slept her way there' crap to begin with, and it would have been relentless if she'd married Steve.

Plus, I like to think her husband was Daniel from the series, because they were so sweet together.

I feel really robbed that we never got to see any more of her story with the series being cancelled. I liked it better than AoS tbh.

Me, too!

I only watched about one season of AoS and it just...was not fun. From what I heard, it got worse, so...i don't feel like I missed much.

Nah, first season was definitely the worst until about 3/4 the way through. Fourth is generally considered the best. Fifth is the one that split fans more.

Thank you for this! Peggy is such an awesome, strong character, and reducing her was what upset me the most about that ending. Peggy is an inspiration.

Yes! I loved that Peggy had grieved then got the fuck on with her life. It's weird and kind of insulting to her entire character arc. And also who were the kids with before Steve went back in time like that? I know they never said who Peggy married but there were photos with the kids in them!

And if they go on to say that he was 'always' Peggy's husband, then he was making out with his own niece in Sharon, which is just....wrong.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
What's extra weird there is that surely she would have known that, even if he didn't!

Exactly.
But, apparently....going back doesn't change anything?
So that was an alternate reality?

In which...frozen Steve was left frozen or told 'too bad, so sad, I took your girl' or...what, exactly?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly. Peggy had such an amazing growth and character arc, and it just feels meaningless now. Not "reduced" necessarily, just...lost.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly! It shits all over the show and her growth in it. I liked that they had Jarvis in the movie, acknowledging the show's great casting, and then that happened.
