I'm still so sad this never got an ending years later. This and X-1999 will forever be on the top of my list there. :(

Def on X/1999. Not sure where it could've gone, and CLAMP's not exactly a stranger to asspulls that make me shriek like a harpy, but I'D TAKE IT just for closure!

I swear they're allergic to finishing things. I got up my hopes when Legal Drug got a few more volumes a la Drug and Drop, but then went on hiatus again. T___T

Like above anon though, I gave up on YnM ending a loooooooong time ago.

I wish they’d finish Drug and Drop, but I doubt they ever will. I just wish they’d come out and say they’re never finishing it, but the ending was planned to be ______ or whatever.

IDK, I'd rather take being eternally unfinished over what they did to xxxHolic and Tsubasa :/

Both of these were definitely things that made me shriek like a harpy.

I don’t even get what all that fuckery in the endings for Tsubasa and xxxHolic was all about, but I do know I hated it.

Can someone please spoil me on Tsubasa? All I know is Sakura loses her voice or soul and Syaoran needs to get it back and there's a gay blond and a gruff looking dude he's with who join Syaoran. But I've heard the series is a clusterfuck. Do Syaoran and Sakura get a happy ending where they get together at least?

Sorry that this is late but I'll try and give you the run down.

First, this is not CCS Syaoran and Sakura but from a different universe (the series is very multiverse heavy). Sakura loses her soul, so she, Syaoran, blond guy, grumpy guy, and cutie patootie go traveling throughout the multiverse but for every memory she gets back (in the form of feathers which are pieces of her soul) she will never be able to remember Syaoran. First half of the series is really fun and good and delightful. Then, twist, turns out Syaoran is a clone! Made sense, lots of build up, a really strong CLAMP moment. He loses his soul, gets turned into a killing machine, is replaced by the guy he was cloned from. But then, second twist! Sakura is also a clone! No build up, CLAMP can't decide when in the timeline it happened, 0/10 but it gets worse. Clones die. Time travel rubbish when we find out that the real Syaoran knew the real Sakura, she died, he reversed time to stop her from dying, broke the universe. They fight the big bad, find out that the clones have been reincarnated and are the real Syaoran's parents (-100000/10 terrible twist CLAMP what were you thinking) and they help fight the bad guy. They kill bad guy and then die because the bad guy created them even though that was never brought up before but fine. Real Sakura lives, but because his parents never existed now Real Syaoran has to eternally travel the multiverse.

So long story short: Clone Syaoran and Sakura who you are emotionally attached to die for no reason and do not get a happy ending. Real Syaoran (who you have some attachment to) and real Sakura (who has like three scenes in 28 volumes) also do not get a happy ending. Neither of these bad endings make sense.

That, and the fact that Syaoran's Bad End means that Watanuki gets a bad end, because of what was ultimately a pointless crossover that really did not do xxxHolic any favours.
