(Anonymous) 2019-07-06 11:04 am (UTC)(link)First, this is not CCS Syaoran and Sakura but from a different universe (the series is very multiverse heavy). Sakura loses her soul, so she, Syaoran, blond guy, grumpy guy, and cutie patootie go traveling throughout the multiverse but for every memory she gets back (in the form of feathers which are pieces of her soul) she will never be able to remember Syaoran. First half of the series is really fun and good and delightful. Then, twist, turns out Syaoran is a clone! Made sense, lots of build up, a really strong CLAMP moment. He loses his soul, gets turned into a killing machine, is replaced by the guy he was cloned from. But then, second twist! Sakura is also a clone! No build up, CLAMP can't decide when in the timeline it happened, 0/10 but it gets worse. Clones die. Time travel rubbish when we find out that the real Syaoran knew the real Sakura, she died, he reversed time to stop her from dying, broke the universe. They fight the big bad, find out that the clones have been reincarnated and are the real Syaoran's parents (-100000/10 terrible twist CLAMP what were you thinking) and they help fight the bad guy. They kill bad guy and then die because the bad guy created them even though that was never brought up before but fine. Real Sakura lives, but because his parents never existed now Real Syaoran has to eternally travel the multiverse.
So long story short: Clone Syaoran and Sakura who you are emotionally attached to die for no reason and do not get a happy ending. Real Syaoran (who you have some attachment to) and real Sakura (who has like three scenes in 28 volumes) also do not get a happy ending. Neither of these bad endings make sense.
