That is surprising! I thought all Trump supporters were pure evil incarnate.

Not what I said and not sure what your point is?

I mean, they're literal Nazis, I just thought this was the standard opinion.

A lot of them are, yes. My uncle is more the libertarian, liked Trump because he was a businessman and liked the idea of a business guy being president. I don't talk to him much, so I don't know how he feels about how Trump is actually doing as president. My uncle and I don't get along very well, mind. We disagree on just about everything. But I wouldn't call him a Nazi. More of someone who has decided he's willing to tolerate Nazis in order to get some other things he likes to happen. Which is pretty bad too in my book.

Anyway, I'm just surprised and grateful for the donation. It is to a charity that does free legal services for immigrants. So not the kind of thing I'd expect this uncle to donate to.

They are only like....65% evil incarnate. The other 35% are just ignorant. Of course, the politicians ARE 100% evil incarnate.

Which category do you think philstar's uncle falls into? Ignorant, I suppose? Since he gives to a charity that's necessary solely because of his politics?

He's a Libertarian, so...mostly ignorant with a strong streak of narcissism. Whether or not you could call that evil is up to you.

That's pretty accurate. Ignorant and narcissist. He's very much into the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" and "this is mine, no one should take it" point of view, with the idea that everyone is capable of doing that and we shouldn't have to help each other. Evil seems a little strong because I reserve that for the overtly racist people like the ones currently running our government. But I could totally get why other people would disagree. Honestly my uncle drives me up a wall most of the time. I generally avoid talking to him because he pisses me off so much. I took him off my close friends page on my Facebook because I didn't want his comments showing up. But he's the first person to donate and he donated a nice amount, so I just wanted to give him a bit of a shout out. I don't know whether he's changed his mind on immigration, whether he just did it for me, or what. But whatever the case, I'm grateful.
