I mean (without intending to start any fights), there are likely some historical figures where there's no proof one way or another what their skintone actually is.

I mean, if you're asking my personal opinion, it's as silly as any other form of historical misunderstanding that attempts to find meaning by imposing modern categories onto the past. Doesn't matter much anyway.

Yeah, this. I mean, both is dumb: Pretending dark skinned people didn't exist in Europe in medieval times when they very much did on one side, pretending racial issues were the same then as they are now when they weren't on the other.
