I have a condition where a random strain could kill me/fry my brain. I think if pot is legal all over then it needs to have all over laws about the strains and what it could cause ect. It it is too simple to go 'ok this is legal now'.

Then we need to have laws about how much you ave ingest or smoke ect before driving/operating certain machines just like with booze. We should not just flip a switch

Sure, but I worry about any fam that might and think it is legal and ok and then get a bad batch? We know alcohol isn't moonshine now. It is safe. Regulated. I'd just want the same for weed and guidelines on who maybe would be in serious shit if they used it.

That's part of the legalization process. That's one of the major values of the legalization process - cultivation and extraction can be regulated, protocols can be put in place for quality control. People are a whole hell of a lot more likely to get a contaminated batch of weed or mixed or incorrect strains in places where it's not fully legal than in places where it is.

There are already laws on the books about this, whether it is legal or not. Why wouldn't there be? In my state (medical is legal here), it's any amount. If a cop drug tests you and you have any amount of any drug that is considered impairing in your system, that's considered driving while under the influence. Cannabis in any form is included, along with things like Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium), Ketamine, etc.

According to some training I took for work years ago, whatever they test for when they test for pot sticks around in your body for several days (as opposed to alcohol, which is gone in hours) but clearly no one stays high for several days. I'm in favor of legalization, but curious how workplace drug tests will work now if people can legally consume it on a weekend and still test positive on a Monday, even though it is no longer imparing them.

That's called Driving Under the Influence and it's illegal in most places my dude. Not sure I wanna know where you live that it isn't.

Where I live we have some of the strictest laws about that.

That is why if we do legalise weed I want to see similar laws and also make sure that strains are not just something some random grew in his garden.

Weed is dangerous. So is booze. So let's make sure everyone is safe.

NAYRT, but in the US, there don’t need to be separate DUI laws for different controlled substances. A DUI for weed, booze, meth, etc, is a DUI regardless of whether the substance(s) a person is under the influence of is legal or not. So those laws wouldn’t have to change. If the substance is illegal to have/use, there’d probably be ‘possession of controlled substance” charges too, is all.

I agree.
