This comment makes me think you don’t watch much animation.. There isn't always, but quite often, you can tell based on the rasp and timbre of the VA’s voice what race they are. Not that it says anything about talent, but the difference is recognizable for those with smaller range.

Then you have the crazy versatile ones that can play a range of races, but they definitely do perform to that, employ distinct inflection for black v white v Asian v Hispanic. Phil Lamar, Dee Bradley Baker, and Carlos Alazraqui all come to mind.
