All of this. She was just unfortunately coming in at the worst possible time. I can't begin to imagine how rough that would be. And didn't she find out she wasn't returning to the show through some talk online rather than CBS directly as well? I seem to remember hearing that somewhere, and that's beyond shitty if true. CBS, man, I swear...

That said, I still like Seaver herself-I think there's enough interesting bits about her there that I can see where they may have wanted to go with her character, had she stuck around longer. I'm like the OP in that I can find something to love about every team member past and present. I think they've all brought something different and interesting to the team over the years, and there's been a variety of lovely dynamics and relationships (in regards to Seaver, I liked her interactions with Emily and Rossi in particular).

And if I feel the show didn't explore certain parts of the characters and their relationships enough, well, hey, more fun stuff for me to explore in my fics, then :D. Or I'll find fics by other writers who flesh that stuff out beautifully, too (and I have).

Course, I tend to have that attitude with all my favorite shows. Unless the character is meant to be hated in canon for whatever reason, I can't really think of any characters on the shows I watch that I outright dislike. I may have particular favorites, sure, but I'll still like all the characters to some degree or another.
