She has a very different look towards the end, which she kind of evolves into. This is when she was still in her war correspondent guise, so it makes sense that her hair is a bit conservative.

Half of me wanted a Lizabeth Salander a la Fincher, but half of me feels like that look would have stood out too much. It's uninspired, but it's consistent with the rest of the production design.

(I do agree that it is particularly mom-ish though.)

I kept waiting for her teeth to be like bullets. Over all, *all* the horsemen were disappointing to me, even Death. Just....meh.
