Brad Pitt in Troy - Achilles is meant to be like 20, tops. Miranda Otto got some too old comments for playing Eowyn. Good Omens is the latest to attract the too old criticism.

Also if you think Cumberbatch was too old, there have been actors in their seventies playing Hamlet.

I thought Miranda Otto was not tough looking enough to play Eowyn (although her acting was good) but I never heard anyone say they thought she was too old.

Hmmm. Like greghousesgf, I never heard any "too old" comments about Mirando Otto, but I personally thought she didn't look like someone who could carry a sword and shield in battle. That wasn't entirely about her looks and build, it was also that she moved quite stiffly and awkwardly with the sword, as if she'd never picked one up before.
