KING TAIKA WAITITI IS DIRECTING THOR 4!!!

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
But what if there is no loki in thor 4 :(

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
there will be a loki come on.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly!
No Loki, then I'm not interested in seeing it. I do like Thor and would love to see more Valkyrie, but Loki is the most interesting aspects of all the films imo. Without him, the Thor films fall flat.
(Yes, Thor has been obviously in other films without Loki that were great and did well but he was then surrounded by other more interesting characters, such as Iron Man.)

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
Booooooo.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
Well, at least he's not doing Akira.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Just you wait.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Meh. While I had some issues with it I liked Ragnarok well enough as a movie but having another one directed by Waititi doesn't sit well with me. It worked one time but has a lot of potential of being more annoying than awesome a second time around.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
People like it because it's more interesting.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
For what it's worth, so did I. Ragnarok was entertaining, but threw away most of what I loved about Thor and his franchise, and doubled down hard on the things I didn't like.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
I had the exact opposite reaction. I liked the first Thor movie and then hated the way he was handled up to the Waititi movie.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much this for me, too. I preferred earlier Thor and for me I feel that after Avengers, Marvel Studios had no idea what to do with Thor. They knew Loki was popular and that was it. In the end I think they just throw comedy at it to make the problem go away.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Still better than Thor 2.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
IE every MCU movie except for Iron Man 3

I like the older Thor too.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I really didn't see the big deal about Ragnarok. I like Taika Waititi's stuff. I like Tessa Thompson, I like the ladies with big guns trope, I like Evil Cate Blanchette Roles...and it still fell flat for me.

It's wry and frantic. I just need one.

Yep.

And I don't see a major difference between the Thor of 1 and 2 and the Thor of 3. It is the same character to me, just progressed and at a different point in his journey.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
I feel like Thor in 3 has allowed himself to fucking relax more often and let his personality just shine instead of trying to be the serious leader type. It felt like he came into his own.

Yeah, I'm not sure if Hemsworth is as dumb as he makes himself out to be, but I'm getting tired of watching 'Hemsworth' in a role rather than an actual character.

I was excited about Ragnarok but not about Thor 4 so I feel you.

Like I get Thor Was treated meh in Avengers films and the Creative Committee fucked up TDW but that wasn't a problem with Thor's supporting cast or Asgard.

And it's funny when Ragnarok only fans complain about IW and EG undoing stuff. Yeah it sucks when writers or directors "respectfully disrespect" something you love hey?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
thor 1 and 2 are my favourite thor movies. haven't watched 3 because it just doesn't seem like it's going to be my cup of tea. tonally speaking.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, Thor 1 was the only Thor movie I loved. Taika's was fun, but it was like an AU fic. I saw it, I enjoyed it, but I'll probably never see it again.
