Whenever I come across a term or acronym that's unfamiliar, I Google it.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Or you could say, 'health at every size' and not be a dick.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
I mightve done this if the user had been more polite with their inquiry.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too, and I get a long list of acronyms that obviously aren't the meaning used in the context.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
The entire first page of Google results says exactly what "HAES" stands for, though.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 06:52 am (UTC)(link)
Google results are different based on your location and previous searches.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 10:46 am (UTC)(link)
The entire first and second pages of Google results is just info about some artist called Carlos de Haes, literally just that. I've got his wiki entry, multiple results for Museo Nacional del Prado, documentaries, specialized art websites...

I don't get anything about "health at every size" until halfway through the third page.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
LOL, try again and type more carefully this time. Then come back and tell us about all the confusing acronyms.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not talking about this specifically but please tell me how you'd know what REG or MAP means in fandom just by googling it.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
You could try typing "what does MAP mean in fandom" or adding more context words to narrow down your results. Like I said, Google doesn't work miracles. You sometimes have to put some effort into finding out answers, but fortunately, it's not THAT much effort.

But those were other examples, not relevant to the discussion. Google "HAES" and you will find out exactly what it means, no problems.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-16 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
OK, I Googled HAE - can you clarify a little more on what the secret has to do with hereditary angioedema?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Try Googling "HAES". Google can't work miracles if the search input is incorrect.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think someone thought the acronym was plural because it ends in S.

It's not plural. It stands for "Health At Every Size."

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe all of this would have been simpler if someone could just be helpful and answer a question in the first place

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
Or even simpler, if a person has a question about what an acronym means, they could Google it first to see if the answer comes up.

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Why learn how to seek out knowledge on your own when you can impose on other people by demanding that they explain things to you?

(Anonymous) 2019-07-20 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
You sound like such a whiny little bitch

(Anonymous) 2019-07-17 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
I thinn its pretty clear at this point that no amount of being an ass about it will stop people from doing the basic human action of politely asking someone what they meant
