that's an important part. some people have disorders that make them lose track of time really easily e.g. adhd. but that's an explanation. plus they're aware they've inconvenienced someone.

someone walking in half an hour late all the time like it's nbd is another story.

as someone with adhd, that's really no excuse in this day and age of cellphone alarms. if i know i need to be somewhere at 7 pm, for example, and it will take me 30 minutes to get there, i set my alarm for 5:45 to alert me that i need to start getting ready to go so i have plenty of time to finish up whatever i was doing.
